We are launching a fundraising effort to replace our audio system and repair our leaking roof. We have consulted multiple, vetted experts to ensure that the investments we will make provide effective, long-term solutions to the issues surrounding deficiencies that have frustrated us for years, as economically as possible.

Our audio/video system was installed when the church was built twenty-five years ago. This system has failed and must be replaced. We have a limited number of microphones working, our ability to adjust the sound being produced is very limited, and our video projector is not working through the system. Audio system performance continues to degrade.

We have worked with five audio engineering firms over the past year to design an audio system that will provide excellent voice and music quality in all areas of our sanctuary. The new system will eliminate the reverberation and echo our current system has produced throughout its life and use Bluetooth technology to assist the hearing impaired. Installation of acoustic panels, baffles and other “softening” treatments that would compromise the beauty of our sanctuary, will not be required. The new system will be installed in July. The investment will be approximately $140,000.

We have struggled with roof leaks for many years and have consulted with four contractors to address the root cause of these leaks and implement a cost-effective solution. Our building is designed to shed water from the pitched roof sections onto two flat roof sections that are next to the towers. The flat roof section covering has failed, water is currently collecting there and leaking into the building. The asphalt shingles on the pitched roof sections also need to be replaced. The roof replacement will make improvements to channel water from snow load and rain off the roof and away from the building. This investment will cost approximately $350,000. Work will be completed this summer.
